Copper Clad Aluminum Conductors
Copper-Clad Aluminum Strip
CCA strip is a rolled conductor with copper cladding on an aluminum core. For formed or stamped electrical parts, specify width, thickness, copper ratio and edge condition, then include the bend and joining requirements from the part drawing.
Construction and specification
- Material construction
- Aluminum core with copper cladding; specify the layer ratio and its mass or volume basis
- Product form
- Strip
- Flatness /
- ≤0.05 mm/m
Selection and processing
Use the formed-part drawing to define width, thickness, copper ratio and exposed edges. If flatness or camber matters, state the measurement length and method. Compare resistance and the formed joint rather than assuming a heat-sink or high-current result from the material name.
Standards context
Use the drawing and a material/form-specific purchase specification. Round-wire references do not qualify rolled strip, foil or flat wire. Confirm edition, methods and acceptance criteria.
Standards scope referencesProduct questions
What applications are relevant for CCA Strip?
CCA Strip is relevant for Electronic shielding, Heat sinks, Connectors and related engineered conductor applications where the material tradeoff is validated.
What information should be included in an RFQ for CCA Strip?
Include product form, dimensions, material ratio or layer requirement, target conductivity or strength, application environment, annual demand, packaging and any test or certification requirement.
