How to Specify PV Ribbon
Start with the cell layout and ribbon function. Then define conductor size, solder coating, mechanical properties and spool format. Use a stringing trial to check feeding, peel strength and cell damage before setting the production specification.

Follow the cell and process definition
Fill in the input cells, then copy the table and paste it into your inquiry. Leave unknown items blank.
On narrow screens, scroll to see all columns.
| Step | Inputs and checks | Your input |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Cell and current path | Cell technology/metallization, contact layout, interconnect or busbar function and ribbon count | |
| 2. Geometry | Round metal/finished diameter or flat width/thickness and tolerances; resistance and shading basis | |
| 3. Coating | Identified solder alloy, thickness and coverage; flux and actual joining profile | |
| 4. Mechanical handling | Condition, yield/proof-stress method, elongation, camber and spool/feeding behavior | |
| 5. Trial | Reference cell/ribbon lots, settings, wetting, peel method, EL inspection and resistance | |
| 6. Release | Module tests for the changed bill of materials, acceptance, batch records and change control |
Copy before opening inquiry.
Record the trial and order basis
Keep the drawing revision, sample identifiers, method, test conditions, acceptance limits and measured results together. Resolve open fields with the specification owner before comparing offers or releasing a changed construction.
