Engineering FAQ Guide
Nickel Clad Copper FAQ
What is Nickel Clad Copper?
copper core with nickel cladding for corrosion and oxidation resistance.
What is it? Nickel-clad copper combines a conductive copper core with nickel cladding.
Primary Applications
- battery tabs
- sensors
- heating elements
- electrodes
- corrosive environments
Critical RFQ Specifications
- nickel ratio
- geometry
- conductivity
- surface condition
- bond integrity
- thermal exposure
Selection
Does a nickel surface establish suitability for every chemical environment?
No. State the medium, concentration, temperature, exposure time and whether cut edges, ends or weld zones expose copper. Evaluate the finished component against those conditions.
Specifications
How should the nickel layer be specified?
Give the nickel fraction with a mass, volume or area basis, or state the required layer thickness by face and the measurement method. Add total diameter or width and thickness, grade, condition and layer coverage.
Procurement
What should a Nickel Clad Copper inquiry include?
Include nickel ratio, geometry, conductivity, surface condition, bond integrity, thermal exposure, drawing revision, intended use, requested sample or production quantity, packaging and destination. Confirm the required inspection records and schedule for that specification.
Testing
What should be checked after joining or forming?
Inspect the nickel coverage, cracks, layer integrity and exposed copper after the actual bend or weld process. Record joint resistance, strength and relevant corrosion or thermal results for the same sample.
